Day 1
Your journey will
start in the hotel lobby when you are met by a member
of our friendly staff. They will transfer you to our
floatplane base at nearby Schwatka Lake. There you will
be introduced to our fleet of modern aircraft and to
your pilot, who will bring out the maps and explain
the route you are about to take. After lifting off from
the lake, we will turn south to retrace part of the
gold rush trail of ’98 by flying over the small
community of Carcross, then Lake Bennett and the famous
White Pass. We’ll then veer east for breathtaking
views of the Coastal Range, the Taku ice fields and
the Llewellyn Glacier before heading to the historic
little mining town of Atlin in the far north of British
Columbia. After a flight time of approximately 1 hour
and 30 minutes, you will arrive in Atlin to be met by
your guide and to board a houseboat for the cruise south
down beautiful Atlin Lake to the Llewellyn Fjord. Your
houseboat offers all of the comforts of a home, with
cabins, bathrooms, kitchen and living room. From its
flat top you can enjoy summer temperatures that can
reach as high as 30 C. You will drift off to sleep in
one of the houseboat cabins while listening to the gentle
lapping of the lake against the hull.
Day 2
We will spend the entire day in the mountainous region
of Llewellyn Glacier, which offers unforgettable opportunities
for hiking, photography and wildlife observation. In
the afternoon we will leave Llewellyn Fjord and head
north for one of the many beautiful islands in Atlin
Lake. We will pass by spectacular Cathedral Mountain
before stopping for another restful night. After dinner
beside the campfire your guide will entertain you with
stories from the North.
Day 3
In the morning we will drive back to Atlin and the floatplane.
We will fly west over beautiful lakes of different colors
to the Taku Arm of Tagish Lake. After a flight time
of 45 minutes we’ll land at the Tagish Wilderness
Lodge where owners Beat and Jacqueline will welcome
you with a hearty lunch, then introduce you to their
facilities and the beauties of the surrounding area.
With its comfortable cabins and fine cuisine, their
lodge offers an especially relaxing wilderness sojourn.

Day 4
After enjoying your hosts’ famous breakfast you’ll
find many different activities to choose from. You can
enjoy boating, fishing or hiking or simply relax at
the lodge. In the evening, lounging on the deck, you
can enjoy the long hours of daylight and recall the
day’s adventures.

Day 5
After breakfast you will board your floatplane right
at the lodge doorstep. We will fly over the lodge one
last time for a fond farewell before heading east for
the Teslin River. Here, after an approximately 30-minute
flight, we’ll land at our own Inn on the River.
For the next two days, this lodge will be your comfortable
home in the middle of the wilderness. Fine cuisine and
an impressive selection of beverages will delight your
senses. To top it off, each room in this luxurious lodge
features a private Jacuzzi.

Day 6 and 7
Our oh-so-quiet Inn on the River offers myriad comfortable
ways of enjoying your stay in the great north woods.
You can opt for canoe trips, boat excursions or a ride
on an all-terrain vehicle. And the fishing is excellent
with plenty of chances to hook lake trout, grayling
and pike. Of course, simply relaxing at the lodge is
also an option.
