With a land mass the size of California
and a population of only 30,000 the Yukon offers unparalleled
access to untouched nature and wilderness experiences.
With a limited road network, truly remote locations
far away from highways and towns are only accessible
by floatplane. During this 8-day Yukon Wilderness Adventure
Tour we fly you in our comfortable DeHavilland Beaver
floatplane over pristine nature with incredible views
to charming wilderness camps and luxury lodges.
The Yukon Wilderness Adventure Tour will take you to
famous lodges such as:
• The Tagish Wilderness Lodge at Tagish Lake
• The Frances Lake Wilderness Lodge at Frances
Lake
• The Inn on the River at Teslin River
Itinerary
Day 1
Your journey starts in the hotel lobby. There you are
met by one of our friendly staff who will transfer you
down to our floatplane base at Schwatka Lake. At  the
base you will meet with your pilot who will introduce
you to our fleet of satellite-phone equiped floatplanes
and will explain the journey you are about to take on
a map. Departing Schwatka Lake we will fly south and
re-trace the historic Gold Rush "Trail of ‘98"
overflying Carcross and Windy Arm to the Taku Arm of
Tagish Lake. After a 35-minute flight we land at the
doorstep of the Tagish Wilderness Lodge.
Beat and Jacqueline, the owners of the lodge will warmly
welcome you and introduce you to the charming lodge.
Around the table during a hearty lunch you will exchange
your first experiences and impressions of the first
flight during your journey. And, we can assure you,
this will be only the beginning! You can choose form
a variety of afternoon activities, such as a hiking
tour around the wilderness lodge, a fishing trip or
boat excursion.
Day 2
Today you can choose from a variety of activities, such
as hiking tours in the beautiful mountain range just
east of the Tagish Wilderness Loge, boat and fishing
tours or mountain bike tours. Enjoy the beauty of this
magnificent region and listen to the silence in the
wilderness that was described in the many poems and
novels of renown Yukon writers.
Relax in the evening on the deck of the lodge and experience
the long days of sunlight during June and July.
Day 3
In the morning after breakfast you will hear the unique
sound of the Beaver Floatplane approaching the Lodge
from the north. A last overflight and many pictures
will remind of this magical wilderness resort.
We continue on our floatplane journey this time eastbound,
overflying many larger lakes such as Teslin Lake, as
well as vast hinterlands and mountain ranges. The two-hour
flight will bring us to our next destination, Frances
Lake Wilderness Lodge.
Chris and Andrea the owners of the lodge will welcome
you at the lakeshore. The lodge is located in a beautiful
cove surrounded by nice beaches. In the afternoon, you
can choose from a variety of outdoor activities or simply
relax in the main lodge enjoying the scenery. Choose
a book from the large library.
Day 4
Today, your Frances Lake lodge guide will offer you
a selection of many different activities. Frances Lake
has many scenic places for wildlife observation. The
lake is well known for outstanding lake trout and nothern
pike fishing. The lodge also prides itself on its excellent
cuisine. A delicious dinner will await you at the end
of the day’s adventures!
Later in the evening during a relaxing moment on your
cabin’s porch, you will enjoy views of the magnificent
scenery of this unique corner of the Yukon.
Day 5
In the morning your aircraft will arrive once again
to take you to your next destination, the highlight
of your journey. This time we are heading west over
different mountain ranges to the luxury lodge “Inn
on the River” at Teslin River.
This deluxe lodge, built in 2000 is fully equipped for
your comfort in the wilderness. The rooms feature private
jacuzzi’s and a truly luxurious open-plan lounge/dining
area with outdoor patio. This is an ideal place to relax
and to enjoy your stay in the Yukon. In the evening
a gourmet dinner accompagned with a selection of wines
will be served.
Day 6 and 7
The absolutely quite "Inn on the River" offers
an abundant variety of activities to enjoy the beauty
of nature in a truly luxurious fashion. You can choose
canoe trips, boat excursions or a trip on an all terrain
vehicle. The fishing is excellent with chances to catch
lake trout, pike, grayling and inconnu. As always relaxing
at the cabin is also an option. Additionnally, a floatplane
is at your disposal for local sightseeing tours, fishing
or hiking in nearby lakes.
 Day
8
In the morning the Beaver floatplane will arrive for
the last time at "Inn on the River" to fly
you back to Whitehose. This flight will remind you of
the vast areas of pristine wilderness that make up the
Yukon. After arriving in Whitehorse we provide transportation
back to your hotel where your Yukon adventure with Yukon
Wings comes to an end.
